VeraChain is a non-custodial DeFi protocol. We are committed to collecting as little personal data as possible. This policy explains what limited information the VeraChain website and account system handle, and how it is used.

2. What we collect

The protocol itself is non-custodial and does not require personal data to use. The website collects only the following:

• Account data. If you create an account, we store your email address and a securely hashed version of your password. Passwords are never kept in readable form.
• Optional promo code. If you enter a promo code during registration, it is stored alongside your account.
• Basic analytics. We count page visits and button clicks in aggregate to understand how the site is used. This data is not tied to your identity.

We do not collect names, physical addresses, payment card details or government identification. The protocol does not perform KYC.

3. How we use data

The limited data we hold is used only to operate the service:

• To create and secure your account and let you sign in.
• To send important service-related messages, if necessary.
• To improve the website using aggregate, non-identifying usage statistics.

We do not sell your data. We do not share it with advertisers.

4. Cookies and local storage

The website uses your browser's local storage to remember your language preference. This information stays in your browser and is not transmitted to us.

5. Data security

Passwords are stored as a salted hash. Account data is held on our own server infrastructure. While we take reasonable measures to protect it, no system can be guaranteed completely secure.

6. Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your account data at any time by contacting us. Deleting your account removes your email and associated record from our systems.
